About This Book

Four volumes of Winston S. Churchill's The Second World War, Houghton Mifflin, Boston, 1948-1950: Vol. 1 The Gathering Storm (1948), Vol. 2 Their Finest Hour (1949), Vol. 3 The Grand Alliance (1950) and Vol. 4 The Hinge of Fate (1950), the Nobel laureate's history of the war he led Britain through. Sold together as a set of the first four of six volumes. Condition Fair: all four show old water damage at the bottom edge of the covers and dust jackets (the cloth has bled, with tide lines), but the text pages are clean and readable. Vols. 2-4 are in their dust jackets, which are chipped and worn; Vol. 1 is in red cloth without its jacket, with a clipped front-flap remnant (Book-of-the-Month Club) laid in.
